The Light Of Christmas
Steve Free has recorded a Christmas album, The Light Of Christmas, which includes five original songs and seven traditional Christmas songs. The opening song, and title track, is a relaxed tune about the three kings journeying to Bethlehem for the birth of Christ. “It’s Christmas Day” is a joyful song that bounces out of the speakers. Another song to note is “Christmas In The Valley,” which Free wrote. Free paints a nice picture of winter in this Folk-sounding song. Free has a very believable voice when telling these stories in his songs. He knows his limitations and stays within his range, which is a smart thing to do. While the production is sparse, one would expect that in a Christmas album, where the focus should be on the message, not the production. “Go Tell It On The Mountain” adds a nice flavor to this holiday album. Congratulations to Free for making a good Christmas album, which is not easy to do.
